We have just started "solids" at our house... He has just started with bellamy brand organic rice cereal. With all the pesticides, addatives and chemicals in food I think going organic will give him the best natural start in life. Just wondering if anyone else is concerned about what is going into bubs mouth?

Yes i also feed my darling daughter organic food. The market is booming with organic food , so when it is as easy as reaching for the next product on the shelf , why wouldnt you? These day's it is getting cheaper and cheaper for organic produce as it becomes readily available. There have been occasions where my baby has ate non organic food, but i try to offer organic when i can. it definatly wont kill your bub if he/she does not eat organic. however i believe it more important to make your own baby food when possible. Have you ever heard of the term 'live food?' Basicaly it works on the principal of when food is taken from its environment (eg a apple being picked from a tree) it ceases being 'live food'. this means that the longer it is sitting there before you consume it the more nutrients it will loose. When buying jarred baby food i know the jars will say 100% fruit , but pause for a second and question the nutritional value! Cooking up your own baby food is soooo easy , and i am sure you will love it! there is such a feeling of satisfaction knowing your baby is eating the best! And i think your doing a great thing by choosing bellamys as not only are you giving baby organic , but you are also supporting an australian buisness!! Whatever your choice be in the end, just remember there are no set parenting rules! You feed bubby whatever you are comfortable with! organic or not , fresh or jarred! Either way you will no doubt have a very healthy happy and loved bub so good luck !! :)
